The weather became fairly hot making me feel nauseous and we sheltered a lot, and kept a low profile, as did many of our bird and animal friends, interesting that these creatures also shelter in the heat.
On Saturday we attended Loxton's Mardi Gras and market; dear readers it is a far cry from the Mardi Gras you may be familiar with in Sydney; this was a lovely small town parade, celebrating the year of the farmer and all associated with him.
We also enjoyed talking with people and I loved the quilt exhibition in the local Uniting Church Hall.
On Sunday after a night of 25 deg. we drove to Berri, through miles and miles of citrus and grape and who knows what else. At one of the roadside stalls we bought, fruits and nuts, beautiful.
John wondered if he had an upset stomach over the next few days as we sheltered in our air conditioned van from the 40 deg. heat.
A problem for people travelling around the areas is that there has been an outbreak of Queensland Fruit fly and there are signs and inspectors to take your fruit and vegetables from you as you enter their area. So as we move around we have to make sure we have eaten it all (it will be taken from us) then buy afresh in the new area, what a pain for travellers, it takes some organisation to comply and not have to give away perfectly good food. Yet this area is bristling with beautiful fruit and veg ! So we solidly get into eating what we have bought before we move the van !

Ok I'm clear on that then, nothing like the Sydney Mardi Gras!
